IEA retirees say “no” to teacher retirement tax.

West Suburban Retired Chapter voted unanaimously against these 3 changes at our meeting yesterday. IEA-Retired members have been there opposing changes that affect new teachers and current teachers even though they would not affect us. It would be nice if the active members would have our backs on taxing pension benefits. This same issue came up 5 years ago when the IEA Legislative Committee asked the same question. Just because someone proposes it doesn’t mean we have to agree with it. We said “No” 5 years ago; let’s say “NO” again!
