Recently, my wife and I received election fliers from three candidates for the Chico Unified School District board, Erik Lyon, Dean Stefanides and Sean Worthington. They call their campaign "Putting Students First" and list their sponsor as "Alliance of California Charter Schools," a Sacramento organizations.

We don't believe that strong advocates for charter schools belong on a public school board. They would be largely working against the principles of public education and shouldn't be in a position to make policy for public schools. We strongly urge voters to support the advocates for public education, Kathy Kaiser, Andrea Thompson and Eileen Robinson.
