Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCB) are a U.S. debt instrument created by Section 1521 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. QSCB funds may be used for the rehabilitation, repair and equipping of schools. QSCBs provide federal income tax credits in lieu of interest to lenders who purchase bonds from eligible school districts. Sacramento City Unified School District has received a direct allocation of $21,251,000 for two years.
The Facilities Committee is seeking your input/comments regarding the establishment of potential projects to be funded by QSCB funds. This topic will also be discussed at the November 17, 2009 Facilities Committee Meeting.
