NEWS FROM THE MOMS FOR LIBERTY OUTHOUSE - SH*TTER'S FULL

Attention all parents! Are you tired of your kids learning about things like gender identity and sexual orientation in school? Do you want to shield them from anything that goes against your narrow-minded views? Well, have no fear, Moms for Liberty is here!

This group of conservative parents in Florida has taken it upon themselves to police what other people's kids read in their school yearbooks. They recently lost their shit over a two-page spread in Lyman High School's yearbook that celebrated LGBTQ+ students and their identities. The section was titled "We're Here, We're Queer" and included stories and experiences of LGBTQ+ students and staff, along with explanations of common terms related to gender identity and sexual orientation.

But Moms for Liberty wasn't having any of it. They demanded that the yearbook be recalled or censored, claiming that it exposed their precious children to "pornographic" and "inappropriate" content. Because apparently, learning about different identities and experiences is equivalent to watching porn.

One of the ringleaders of the outrage was Jessica Tillmann, the chair of the Seminole County chapter of Moms for Liberty. She filed a complaint with the school district, arguing that the yearbook violated a state law that bans "pornographic or indecent" books from schools. Tillmann also accused the yearbook staff of "sexualizing" minors and promoting a "gender ideology" that goes against her religious beliefs.

But let's be real here, folks. The only thing being sexualized is Moms for Liberty's obsession with controlling what other people's kids learn. They want the yearbook to only focus on academic achievements and sports, because apparently, LGBTQ+ students don't achieve anything or participate in sports.

The school district caved in to Moms for Liberty's demands and offered refunds or exchanges for anyone who was unhappy with the yearbook. But Danielle Pomeranz, the faculty adviser of the yearbook staff, wasn't having it. She said that the district was giving in to bigotry and censorship, and that it was undermining the hard work and creativity of her students.

Pomeranz pointed out that the LGBTQ+ section was approved by the school principal and based on reputable sources such as GLAAD and The Trevor Project. She said that the section was not about sex at all, but about identity and acceptance. And isn't that something we should all be striving for?

Moms for Liberty may claim to be defending parental rights, but they're really just defending their own narrow-minded views. They're against mask mandates, critical race theory, vaccine passports, and climate change education. In other words, they're against anything that challenges their worldview.

But here's the thing, folks. We live in a diverse world with diverse experiences and identities. And our kids deserve to learn about all of them, not just the ones that fit into Moms for Liberty's narrow-minded worldview.

So let's applaud Lyman High School's yearbook staff for their courage and compassion in creating a beautiful yearbook that reflects the reality of our school and our society. And let's tell Moms for Liberty to take a seat and let our kids learn about the world around them.
