Star CPS principal issues stinging assessment of the Mayor’s education agenda
A leading CPS principal issued a stinging assessment of the education agenda announced yesterday by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Troy LaRaviere, a well-respected district principal who gets results, presented a "Point by point" video response to the Mayor, and explained how his policies have hurt our children. LaRaviere is an education policy advisor to the Garcia campaign.
LaRaviere is a rising star among CPS principals, one of only 7 to be awarded one of the top two Chicago Principal Merit Award Bonuses in both the first and second years of the award. In addition to nearly a dozen years as a public educator, LaRaviere is a US Navy veteran.
The "Point by Point" video was produced by the campaign to elect Jesus "Chuy" Garcia for Mayor of Chicago.
