This article is re-posted from the Website Defending the Early Years because it is do important. Opponents to the Common Core Standards insist that these standards are not researched and tested and are therefore too experimental to use our children as guinea pigs.
Now that we have had these standards thrust upon us more and more legitimate research is being provided that show these standards are NOT acceptable. Our policymakers pushing these standards can no longer ignore our concerns and parents must begin refusing to allow their children to be harmed by these standards. Regardless of what our BESE, our unqualified state superintendent or our less qualified legislators try to cram down the throats of Louisiana citizens, it will ultimately be left to teachers and parents who know better to refuse to perpetuate the hoax of so-called "high standards" as represented by Common Core.
