Using kids as strike-breakers.
I’m a huge fan of high school sports.
But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what is behind the proposal before the Illinois High School Association to allow student-athletes to play in games during a teachers’ strike.
Talk about your cynical use of kids to try and break a strike.
The proposal would require the support of IHSA’s legislative committee and a majority of high school administrators.
Presently, student-athletes are allowed to practice during strikes, but they must be supervised by either volunteer coaches or else coaches must cross picket lines to supervise.
