At a press conference today at Chris Jesperson School with San Luis Obispo County education leaders, Senate Candidate John Lairdtoday called for an end to state budget cuts that have resulted in the layoff of respected teachers, increases in class sizes, school closures, California's per pupil funding level slipping to 47th in the nation and a grade of "F" from Education Week.
