Houston's willingness to remove teachers in low-performing schools

The Dallas ISD blog has linked to a significant story from KHOU-TV in Houston. According to the report, the Houston ISD has replaced 162 teachers who were in low performing schools. Some will be assigned to other schools, while others will retire.
There are two ways to look at this news. You can look at it through the eyes of the teachers. Or you can view it from the perspective of the students.
