Jamie San Andres, a senior at Fresno State University, said between 30 and 40 people have reportedly occupied the office of the vice president of student affairs at Fresno State. Police are reportedly outside of the building.

About 100 more people have joined the group in front of the Berkeley Unified School District's administrative offices, raising the number to around 400 and stretching the demonstration along Martin Luther King Jr. Way from Center Street to Allston Way. The group consists mostly of students, teachers and faculty.

A sit-in at Sonoma State's Financial Administration Building ended after two hours of occupation. Approximately twenty students participated, demanding that the the university start thinking of students as students, rather than as customers, said Kia Kolderup-Lane, a leader for Students for Quality Education.

There are roughly 300 people, from kindergarteners to retired staff members, lining the street in front of the Berkeley Unified School District's administrative offices on Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Demonstrators are holding picket signs and banging drums as passing cars honk in support.

Close to 150 people are lining up in front of Berkeley Community College, which has provided the demonstrators with a bus and 50 BART tickets to go to San Francisco.

About 30 minutes ago "a large crowd of people" gathered around the Cesar E. Chavez Monument at San Jose State University to protest budget cuts, said junior Ellie Harris, a business administration and hospitality management major.
