The Special Olympics Are Coming to UC Davis Next Week

More than 900 athletes and volunteer coaches will convene at UC Davis to experience the thrill of competing against other athletes from all over Northern California. After weeks of training and participating in qualifying competitions, athletes will compete in Aquatics, Bocce, Tennis or Track and Field on the UC Davis campus. Summer Games will commence with the lighting of the cauldron.
The cauldron will be lit at Opening Ceremonies with the “Flame of Hope” that has journeyed throughout Northern California on the official Law Enforcement Torch Run.

The event, which is free, will go from June 22 - 24. Here's the location:
Summer Games will commence on Friday, June 22, with Opening Ceremonies at Aggie Stadium at 7:30pm. Competitions will take place from Saturday, June 23 through Sunday, June 24, at various facilities on the UC Davis campus. There is no admission fee to watch Opening Ceremonies or the competitions.
