The forces of education privatization scored a major victory this November in Georgia, thru passage of a cleverly written constitutional amendment backed by a multiimillion dollar deceptive ad campaign, and the active backing or complicit silence of much of the black political class.

Those of us who have been closely following education policy over the past decade, have always known and understood that a test and punish pedagogy would destroy public education, the souls of our nation's children, our democracy and our basic human rights.
