I am a retired public school teacher and retired or not, I am appalled by the demonizing attacks on public education in the name of school "reform." My fellow retirees and current school employees have suffered scapegoating by pundits and politicians, lost precious money from our paychecks and pensions only to be reallocated to balance a budget. That imbalance was due to greed and incompetence, as many public and private employees know too well, and shows no signs of stopping.
Shifting public school funds in the name of choice creates neither true choice nor change.
Certain vested concerns want to privatize our public schools. Under the guise of charity and philanthropy, corporations, lobbyists and vested politicians are buying our schools for profit, special
