Poor, Poor Caterpillar
One more jab at Caterpillar, then I'll be done. As you know, the Caterpillar CEO recently reiterated his attack on the social contract Illinois holds with its citizens, announcing that because of the fiscal "climate" here (we raised our corporate and state taxes recently, responsibly, and temporarily), Illinois is not in the running for any new factories, or whatever. No factories for you!
Caterpillar is enjoying record profits, and its CEO enjoyed a 60% pay increase last year to $16.9b, and like all corporation, they can pretty much play state against state in their relentless drive increase CEO compensation. So, you can see why their CEO is all butt-hurt about having to pay a little more in taxes, which he probably won't
