Bill Repealing Kings Dominion Law Passes VA House
January 30, 2012 — pwceducationreformLegislation repealing the “King’s Dominion Law” has passed the VA House Education Committee. The legislation, HB 43, was proposed by Del. Bob Tata and will repeal the law which prohibits schools from opening before Labor Day. The full text of the bill is below the fold.
The VA Senate Education Committee narrowly defeated similar legislation proposing to repeal the “King’s Dominion Law”, so if you believe school districts should be given the authority to start the school year before Labor Day, you need to write your state Senator and tell him / her so.
