Education news: made and reported by parents, students, educators.http://www.K12NewsNetwork.com A grassroots activist’s research (@darciecima), highlighted in a NYT expose, shows that the realtor behind Tikun Olam, a NJ charter school, made false claims and misrepresentations on the application to NJ education officials to approve the charter. This is a weak application by a person whose qualifications to run a school are questionable; the same application had been turned down numerous times previously. The school nevertheless received $600,000 in federal funding despite no community support, & refusal to support the school’s creation by local public officials despite claims otherwise on the application.
