NO, IT’S NOT ABOUT THE CHILDREN !
The Chicago Tribune newspaper, (otherwise known as, “teacher bashing central”), has just written an editorial urging Chicago public school teachers to accept only a 2% raise instead of the 4% they were guaranteed under their contract. The newspaper also wanted the teachers to accept another ninety minutes tacked onto the school day.
What a great deal, accept 2% less than what you were guaranteed, and work ninety minutes longer each day. Who wouldn’t want that ? This newspaper is just shameless in their anti teacher bias.
Of course the newspaper ends its editorial with the following words. “Teachers, take the raise – now, as the school year begins. Remember this is about more than a paycheck. It’s about kids in classrooms. Kids who
