Dominic Belmonte: More Agreement Than One Might Think
This is the great Dominic Belmonte, CEO of Golden Apple Foundation. He's a longtime English teacher who is now running the extensive programming of Golden Apple, and he's responding to a commenter who said something to the effect that the speakers weren't listening to each other's ideas, they were just promoting their own idea, which wasn't accurate, in my opinion. Six of seven of the speakers were very much in agreement, and the seventh (Josh Anderson of TFA) was in partial agreement, although I'm pretty sure he was holding back. For example, at one point he asserts that Chicago principals are going to have to get serious about hiring. I didn't get a chance to ask him to unpack that remark, but I do hope we can soon identify the principals who hire flippantly and cavalierly.

Indeed. Certain political forces are definitely aligned around one philosophy to the full exclusion of all others, and it has a lot to do with who owns our corrupt politicians and how those people are framing the debate. It also has to do with people who lie about the nature of the criticism they face, like Arne Duncan does:
That's just dishonesty, plain and simple. He needs to
