The primary clue among high school students -- need for a free bus pass to remain enrolled in school -- went away when all students got passes, and Portland Public School officials failed to find a new way to ensure homeless teens were noticed and helped. They'll now try to emulate Beaverton, which excels at finding and serving homeless students.
