Thompson: Isaiah & Real Community Schooling
As a sophomore, Isaiah (as I will call him) articulated the rationale for community schools better than anyone else ever had.
I use him as an example for my modest reform proposal.
Here's how it happened.
Isaiah was seething as he came to class late but eventually he spoke, asking "D.T., can I ask a few questions?"
I said sure, and then, addressing his classmates, Isaiah asked, "Do you remember when we made Mrs. So and So cry?"
The rejoiner from across the room was "Yeah! That was fun!"
