Around Florida: Education job a revolving door

A word of advice to those who aspire to become Florida’s top education official: keep your resume updated.
For the third time since 2011, a Florida education commissioner has resigned under less than squeaky-clean circumstances.
The latest was Tony Bennett, who resigned Thursday. It was two days after the Associated Press reported he pushed changes that helped a school operated by a GOP donor while serving as Indiana’s superintendent of public instruction.
Though Bennett’s departure is under different circumstances, it is the third time under Gov. Rick Scott’s administration that Florida has been without an education chief.
