Local math, science teachers up for Presidential Awards

Two local educators are among five chosen statewide as California's finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, officials said Monday.
Michelle Katz, who teaches Advanced Placement calculus at Northridge Academy High School, was chosen as a math finalist, and Scott Holloway, a physics instructor at Westlake High School in the Conejo Valley, is a finalist in the science category.
