Douglas County School District: Phys Ed Teachers are WORTH less.

I thought about this post for a few days. After the last little expose on Douglas County super Dr. Fagen’s letter (blog with comments feature turned off), I thought I was ready to move on. I was wrong.
I went back to Dr. Fagen’s post and did some “close” reading and I found something more troubling than plethora of reformy claims—unsubstantiated by any peer-reviewed research. I found a profound “faith-based claim” about market driven hiring that really demonstrates the absolute disregard for why ALL teachers can’t be hired on market principals of simple supply and demand.
Dr Fagen brags that Douglas County now uses the “market” to attract certain hard to get teachers by starting them off at a higher salary. In fact, according to Dr. Fagen:
