South Carolina teachers take on state superintendent

Teachers are taking on South Carolina Superintendent of Education Mick Zais as he tours the state to discuss his plan to evaluate educators by a method that includes standardized test scores as a big percentage of the overall assessment. Teachers repeatedly tell him that it is unfair -- not to mention unreliable -- to use student scores to evaluate the effectiveness of a teacher. This video shows a recent contentious meeting in which Zais dismisses these concerns, "What I'm hearing is that teachers can't be accountable for student learning." The teachers, naturally, disagreed.
