Happy Halloween. Have a celery stick.

After almost three decades of doing this I realize that school is serious business.

Except on the afternoon of October 31st.

Everything goes fairly normally before lunch. Sure. The kids are a little goofy. But most of us know to lower our expectations a little. And there is the time-out to gather in the halls to watch the AM kindergarteners parade through the halls in their costumes, the older students giving them a round of applause.

Cute.

But after lunch? Different story. The parade and parties aren’t scheduled until the final hour. We students and teachers alike are warned that the first ninety minutes after lunch there is to be normal instruction.
