I used to travel a lot before I became a hermit. In my time in Germany, I never once talked to anyone who thought that Ronald Reagan had anything to do with the fall of the Berlin Wall. The locals seem to remember it having a lot more to do with a generation of dissidents and activists, although they're familiar with the American right's idea that it was Reagan's doing. It's a religious tenet here; it's a joke there.
