ACLU continues push against GRPS

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The ACLU continues its push to change the volunteer policy at Grand Rapids Public Schools.
It sent a second letter to the school board asking members to clarify the difference between parental involvement and volunteering when it comes to parents with criminal records.
"In practice, parents are being denied opportunities for activities that are clearly parental involvement, like going into school to meet a teacher about a child who's misbehaved or bringing cupcakes in as a birthday treat," said Miriam Aukerman, ACLU
