Gov. Chris Gregoire is asking all 295 school districts in the state to join an effort to seek $250 million from the federal government for education reform.
Gregoire said a news conference at Foster High School in Tukwila on Tuesday that Washington's application for Race to the Top money will get the federal government's attention if everyone in the education community endorses it.
The governor recently signed into law an education reform plan designed to help the state compete for a slice of the Obama Administration's $4.35 billion Race to the Top program. The plan calls for tougher education
