Resource Guide for Undocumented Students

Atlanta - The College Board, which advocates for the passage of the Dream Act, published a guide to help undocumented youth in the process of search and selection of universities in the United States. The initiative aims to provide information on the financial resources , universities and support organizations available for undocumented youth and their families."Many bright students who are shut out to go to college because they know the admission process or were afraid to apply and College Board saw the need to create this resource available to them, "said Adriana Flores, director of Diversity Initiatives for the College Board.

The paper focuses on several of the states that currently have more favorable policies toward this population: California, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.According to the expert, the lack of resources and information are two of the main obstacles faced by this group to continue their studies after they finish high school. "Many of these students do not know where to turn to get the necessary information, financial resources and allies can help them continue their studies, and this guide will give you that information, "said Flores. The guide offers from a directory of universities available to examples of affidavits to be submitted by students to enroll in these institutions.
