Gravity Strikes Again

I know you're dying to know these things, so here goes...
I write most of this blog on a little $200 netbook running Ubuntu. It's about the cheapest way to do computing known to man.
However, when I'm editing video, I pull out the Mothership--- my top of the line quad-core Mac laptop that I paid for out of money that I should be saving for my retirement. I'm like the Illinois Legislature that way. I brought the Mac with me to Springfield so I could edit some Elaine Nekritz footage on the train. There's nothing quite as convenient and enjoyable as Amtrak's Business Class cars, with their legroom and wi-fi and proximity to the bar car. I was totally productive.
