No Teaching for You!

The principal told me that she wanted me to cover a teacher's classes for two days. I was almost giddy with excitement, strange as that sounds, at the idea of being in a classroom again. "You teach in the same subject area! It will be perfect!" she said.
Today I approached the teacher for whom I'd be covering and asked her (I thought in a friendly manner) if she had any materials or instructions for the class. "What is it you want?" she asked.
