by KYW’s Tony Romeo Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Education is stepping down to become superintendent of the Allentown School District. After five years at the helm of the state Department of Education, Gerald Zahorchak will step down May 7th. Zahorchak believes he leaves the department with a strong infrastructure to carry on: “There’s never, ever a good time to leave, but in an administration, it’s inevitable that you will have to leave. I think we’ve created the kind of systems in this administration that will be bridges that have been built that will be walked over for a long, long time.” |
