LIFTING THE CAP AND POLITICAL ACTIVITY

Earlier this year, ERN submitted a Form 990 from the year 2010 noting “political expenditures.” The updated Form 990 noted ERN would file a Form 4720, but that form was not included. However, a more recent Form 990 including the Form 4720 is now available here.
Quickly, here is what the IRS website says about 501c3 organizations and political activity :
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.
