Banda is the choice for Seattle superintendent

The Seattle School Board on Sunday night selected José Banda as their choice to be the next superintendent.

Experience: 30 years in education. Now superintendent of Anaheim City School District (about 20,000 students); previously deputy superintendent of Oceanside (Calif.) Unified School District and superintendent of Planada Elementary School District, also in California
Education: Master's degree in educational leadership from Chapman University in Orange County; bachelor's degree from California State University, Bakersfield

José Banda, the current superintendent of the Anaheim City School District, is the Seattle School Board's choice as the next school superintendent.
The board is expected to formally name Banda to the job at its meeting Wednesday night, according to a news release Monday from Seattle Public Schools.
After a closed-door meeting Sunday night, the board directed board President Michael DeBell to contact Banda about accepting the position.
In the news release, DeBell said, "I spoke with Mr. Banda on Sunday night and told him the Board is very interested in having him as our next leader of Seattle Public Schools. Mr. Banda expressed his willingness to accept the position if offered. We
