Where did all those 6th graders go? IDEA and Martin MS Comparison

This posts looks at the most recent cohort of 6th graders enrolling in IDEA Charter Schools and Martin MS in Austin ISD. Why start with 6th graders? Because IDEA Charter Schools are separated into elementary schools (K-5) and secondary schools (6-12). So, theoretically, students enter 6th grade and remain in IDEA Charter Schools until graduation and then 100% of them enter college.
This evidence will be criticized because it is only one cohort, but it is the latest cohort available. Thus, it reflects the most current evidence we have on the success of IDEA Charter Schools.
This analysis extends my previous analyses by including middle school grade levels in addition to grades 9

In a holiday-themed archetype of legislative overreach, Alabama passed an ethics law earlier this year forbidding K-12 school teachers from accepting expensive presents. Previous legislation set a $100 limit on individual gifts to public workers, but the new law specifies that gifts to teachers be limited to those of nominal value. The stated purpose: to reinforce ethical practices by state employees.
This was such a big deal that the AL Ethics Commission was receiving about 25 calls a day from parents who didn't want to get their children's teachers in trouble. The Ethics Commission released a detailed report, letting parents know that cookies, hand lotion and mugs are OK. What I found interesting was what was forbidden. Four

I am sitting in the waiting area at Penn Station in NYC, waiting for an 11:05 train home, after having boarded one in Union Station at 3:15 this morning for my day trip to Netroots New York, where I was on a panel about education.
I am thinking about New York, a city from which I moved 40 years ago, to which I return perhaps once or twice a year at most.
I'm thinking about what a city can be, sometimes despite its political leadership.
I was born in the city, and for the 1st two years of my life lived in Manhattan, but I grew up in Westchester County.  Still, even duirng those years through high school I knew the city well -  my grandparents lived in the San Remo on Central Park West.  We often came in for concerts and plays, and until I was in junior high school my father worked at the flagship Macy's -  where to get to his office I had to walk through the toy department,

The achievement gap is generally considered to refer to the gap in achievement between two groups of students as measured by test scores. Other measures of the achievement gap include dropout rates, high school completion rates, and college-going rates. Generally, however, the phrase refers to test scores.
One rationale for expanding charter schools is that such schools can help close the achievement gap. For example, the IDEA website claims, ” Closing the achievement gap is no longer a phrase, but a reality at IDEA Public Schools.” Yet, no data is provided that substantiates this claim. In fact, a search of the Texas Charter School Association, IDEA Charter school website, and a general google search for “achievement gap Texas charter schools” and “Texas charter schools closing achievement gap” did not yield a single result of the closing

I don't know this teacher of course – maybe the Impact system did evaluate her unfairly, which raises an important question: no system is perfect – this is why I oppose the death penalty, because I'm not willing to accept even 1 innocent person being executed for every 99 guilty people who are – so what error rate are we willing to accept?  In the case of the ultimate penalty, I won't accept even a 1% error rate, but I'm certainly willing to accept getting rid of 99 horrible teachers, even if I knew that 1 good teacher would be
