Corporate Media = Corporate Lies
Mayor King 1% Johnson was scheduled to be in Los Angeles on Monday night for a fundraiser hosted by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa that could have an impact on Sacramento's ongoing – although faded – arena effort.
Tim Leiweke, the chief executive of arena operator AEG, was one of the co-hosts of the fundraiser at the Ritz Carlton at L.A. Live, an entertainment district developed by AEG. Leiweke's company had agreed to operate Sacramento's downtown arena, and Johnson still hopes to attract the firm to the city, despite the arena effort's collapse.
Wealthy philanthropist Eli Broad – whose education reform interests are similar to Johnson's – and former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan were also listed as co-hosts of the fundraiser.

Ryan, I have a question for you.  Yesterday, your article about this on the Bee website clearly stated:  “Wealthy philanthropist Eli Broad - whose education reform interests are similar to Johnson's - and former L.A. Mayor Richard Riordan are also listed as co-hosts of the Johnson fundraiser.”  Another co-host listed in your article is Tim Leiweke, CEO of AEG.
I would like to know why the word “Johnson” was removed from this current article.  Was this a fundraiser for Johnson, or for some other person, or some other cause?  If it was for Johnson, why did you take his name out of the last sentence?  This gives the appearance that the Bee is trying to cover up the fact that he was the recipient and AEG, a company which he is including in his arena attempt, is part of this fundraiser.  Would you please clarify if this fundraiser was indeed for Mayor Johnson, or if he will be receiving any funds from this event, and if so, why the Bee took his name out of the last sentence of this article in both the print edition and this Bee website edition?  Thanks.

Interesting. There was another story on this fundraiser that was written by Lillis that strongly suggested the fundraiser is to raise money for KJ and his ambitions. This story only states KJ is expected to attend a fundraiser in L.A. Is it a fundraiser for him or only a fundraiser he is attending?

It is very questionable reporting.  Here are some questions for the Bee:  Since the fundraiser was expected to happen last evening, did it take place?  Were the people mentioned in this article and previous articles actually there?  Was this supposed fundraiser scheduled specifically for the benefit of KJ? The Bee should have this information but doesn't report it.  Strange.  Is the Bee playing games again?  Is the Bee worthy of being called a newspaper in the journalistic sense?  I think we know the answers to some of these questions.
