Nature itself is the beautiful expression of order and balance arising out of chaos. Time and time again, nature has demonstrated its ability to naturally grow this order and peace out of the random noise that makes its very basis. The myth of true order comes from human attempts to impose it where it does not naturally occur. While there may be order, its cause is incorrectly perceived.

By definition, imposed order is unstable. It must be forcibly maintained in order to continue to exist. People are as a whole intelligent enough to devise such structures but not intelligent enough to override our most fundamental sense of natural order. As a whole, our species' attempt to engineer its own order has been slowly successful. We created kingdoms, handing ourselves to a monarch. Anxiety is considered to be a normal reaction to a stressor. It may help someone to deal with a difficult situation by prompting them to cope with it. What an interesting thing this story about the revision of Board policy around high school newspapers has turned out to be.

First, the Times has no story. They link to the My Ballard site story but are strangely quiet about it even as it's a pretty slow news day. A story about freedom of the press that involves candidates for School Board right before election day? You'd think that would interest any newspaper. But not our Times. Apparently, mums the word until AFTER the election.

Trouble is, the Times isn't the only story and now The Stranger has picked it up. Here's one comment:

I'm glad I procrastinated mailing my ballot until after reading this. I was considering voting for (Stranger endorsed) Martin-Morris, but not anymore.

There has been some confusion over a recent ad campaign that was organized by a group of individual supporters of the Occupy Movement. A few weeks ago, David Sauvage independently produced a 30 second spot and posted it to YouTube. Sauvage and the others involved started a Loudsauce campaign on the same day in order to get funding for the ads to be aired nationally.

Loudsauce, similar to Kickstarter, is a crowd funding website where individual supporters can donate money to have ads they support aired on television. David reported on the Loudsauce site that his intentions were to “break through the media barrier and keep spreading the movement.” According to LoudSauce, when a campaign raises enough funds, they negotiate discounted media space with select partners who are interested in supporting their vision.
