Dumb Things Said By Real People

This is so trivial... but it's been sticking in my craw for a few days.  A downstate principal opines:
“I think the Common Core standards are going to do a good thing in having our students think about how they’re thinking, rather than regurgitating what comes out of the test books,” said Mable Woolsey Elementary School Principal Tara Bahnks.
I realize people find themselves talking to the press and then these phrases simply fly out of their mouths,  and I realize that this principal isn't protected by any kind of codified due process and therefore has to toe the company line, but still...

It's a dumb statement.  There is no factual basis for the claim that the Common Core standards are going to do a good job of anything, particularly in the area of having students think about how they're thinking.  Nobody can
