Panel discussion Saturday: Parents As Educators & Putting the Public Back into Public Education

I will be speaking on a panel Saturday morning, sponsored by Assemblymember Keith Wright and organized by the Urban League, as part of the Black and Puerto Rican caucus meeting in Albany

The details are below. It is unfortunate that I will be the only parent on the panel, but you can be sure that I will try to make up for that as best I can.

WORKSHOP TITLE: Parents As Educators: Putting Public Back into Public Education

SPONSOR: Assemblyman Keith Wright
DESCRIPTION: Workshop will include community and school based strategies and models on how to increase parent engagement in the education and advocacy of their children. Advocates will provide information and analysis of existing educational policy on parent engagement. Attendees will receive a free copy of the New York Urban League's "A Parent's Guide to College."
