Carruth, who claimed his superiors forced him to alter student test scores, was principal of the Charles Brimm Medical Arts high school for two years.CAMDEN — Camden school officials have reached an $860,000 settlement with a former high school principal who claimed his superiors forced him to alter student test scores.
Board of Education Attorney Lester Taylor tells the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill that board members unanimously approved the deal this week. But Taylor says some "outstanding procedural issues" must be resolved before the settlement with Joseph Carruth can be formally adopted.
Carruth was principal of the Charles Brimm Medical Arts high school for two years before his contract wasn't renewed in 2006.
Carruth then sued, claiming he was let go for exposing directives to change answers students
