WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER: A CALL TO ACTION FOR THE RESISTANCE

WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER

A CALL TO ACTION FOR THE RESISTANCE

Dear comrades in democracy, defenders of decency, and champions of common sense,

It’s time to lace up your marching boots, sharpen your wit, and charge your phones—because the battle for America’s soul is well underway. The stakes are high, the opposition is loud, and the only way forward is together. Yes, together. Not begrudgingly side by side like awkward coworkers in a trust fall exercise, but united, fierce, and unstoppable. We are the resistance to MAGA and Trumpism, and we are better together.

Let’s face it: the last few years have been a whirlwind of chaos, corruption, and cringe-worthy tweets. We’ve endured more drama than a soap opera marathon, more gaslighting than a Victorian streetlamp convention, and more attacks on democracy than a Netflix docuseries could ever cover. But here’s the thing—they want us divided. They want us disheartened. They want us doom-scrolling in sweatpants instead of showing up to fight for what’s right.

Well, not today, Satan. Not today.

The Power of the Many

We are the majority. Let me say that again for the people in the back: "WE. ARE. THE. MAJORITY." And it’s about time we started acting like it. Progressive? Liberal? Democratic socialist? LGBTQ+ activist? Gen Z wunderkind? Millennial meme lord? Gen X realist? Baby Boomer with a conscience? It doesn’t matter which label you wear; what matters is that you care about justice, equality, and a future that doesn’t look like a dystopian novel written by someone who hates puppies.

We don’t have to agree on everything—heck, we probably won’t agree on what to order for lunch—but we can agree on this: democracy is worth fighting for. Human rights are worth fighting for. The planet is worth fighting for. And together, we’re an unstoppable force of nature. Think Avengers Assemble, but with more diversity and fewer billionaires in iron suits.

Organize Like Your Democracy Depends On It (Because It Does)

Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines. No one ever changed the world by yelling at their TV or rage-tweeting into the void. (Okay, maybe a little yelling—it’s cathartic—but then get to work.) Here’s what we need to do:

1. Organize: Join local groups, start conversations, and build coalitions. Whether you’re hosting a book club that doubles as a strategy session or organizing a protest that shuts down Main Street, every action counts.

2. Advocate: Speak up loudly and often. Write op-eds, call your representatives, and use your social media platforms to spread facts like confetti at a wedding.

3.Protest: Peacefully but powerfully, take to the streets when necessary. Channel your inner civil rights icon and remind those in power that we will not be silenced.

4.Vote: This one’s non-negotiable. Voting isn’t just a right; it’s a superpower. Use it in every election—local, state, federal—because every vote matters. And while you’re at it, drag your friends, family, neighbors, and that one coworker who always “forgets” to register to the polls with you.

The MAGA Mythology

Let’s address the elephant in the room—or rather, the red-hatted herd of elephants. MAGA and Trumpism are not just political movements; they’re cults of personality wrapped in conspiracy theories and dipped in a toxic cocktail of fear and bigotry. They promise greatness but deliver grievance. They claim to love America while dismantling its institutions brick by brick.

But here’s their dirty little secret: they’re scared of us. Why else would they work so hard to suppress votes, gerrymander districts into oblivion, and spread disinformation like it’s their side hustle? They know they can’t win on ideas because their ideas are as appealing as warm mayonnaise on a hot day.

So they cheat. They manipulate. They lie. And they hope we’ll give up.

Spoiler alert: we won’t.

The Resistance Is Fabulous (And Fierce)

Let’s take a moment to appreciate just how fabulous our resistance truly is. We are artists and activists, teachers and techies, parents and poets. We are queer and questioning, straight and steadfast, Black and brown and white and everything in between. We are young enough to TikTok and old enough to remember when phones had cords.

We’re not just fighting against something; we’re fighting for something—a vision of America that lives up to its ideals. An America where healthcare is a right, not a privilege; where love is love; where climate action isn’t optional; where black lives matter; where immigrants are welcomed; and where every person has the opportunity to thrive.

And let’s not forget our secret weapon: humor. While they’re busy frothing at the mouth over imaginary crises, we’ll be cracking jokes, creating memes, and turning their absurdity into our ammunition. Because nothing deflates an authoritarian ego faster than laughter.

This Is Our Moment

History will remember this moment—not just for what happened, but for how we responded. Did we rise to the occasion or retreat into apathy? Did we build bridges or burn them? Did we fight like hell for our future or let it slip through our fingers?

The answer is up to us.

So let’s get to work. Let’s organize like our democracy depends on it—because it does. Let’s advocate with passion, protest with purpose, and vote like our lives depend on it—because they do.

We are better together. We are the resistance. And together, we will win.

Now go forth and be fabulous.
