"The Sacramento affiliate focuses on the emotional development of young girls, community health awareness, and elementary and secondary education.
One of the affiliate's programs includes the annual DIVA Conference where African American young women in grades 8th - 12th are invited to learn about their physical, mental and emotional selves. The conference introduces young women to health and self-esteem related issues such as the value of physical fitness, positive self images, and the importance of setting goals.
