But that's not all! The hearing also looked at Kennedy's financial ties to anti-vaccine groups. Apparently, Kennedy is a board member of Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group that has been criticized for spreading misinformation about vaccines. And get this - Kennedy even receives funding from the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), which compensates people who have been injured by vaccines. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
So what did the subcommittee conclude? Well, they found that Kennedy is a danger to public health. They said that his anti-vaccine rhetoric has led to a decline in vaccination rates and has contributed to measles outbreaks. And they also raised concerns about his financial ties to anti-vaccine groups. Yikes!
Now, I don't know about you, but I think this whole thing is pretty funny. I mean, here we have a guy who thinks he knows more than actual doctors and scientists about vaccines, and he ends up causing a measles outbreak. It's like something out of a bad comedy movie!
