#FightForDyett Interview Timeline

Below you will find a history of the Dyett hunger strike, as told by the hunger strikers themselves in radio and television interviews. The #FightForDyett hunger strike lasted 34 days, and is the first example of a community successfully stopping a public school from being closed.
NPE continues to stand in solidarity with the community as they struggle to remain part of the decision making process for Dyett, and to provide the children in their neighborhood with a strong curriculum that will prepare them in meaningful ways for the future.
