California urges public schools to review security protocols | News - KCRA Home:
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —California's school chief Tom Torlakson said Monday he believes public schools in California are safe, but he wants to make sure schools are reviewing their security plans to learn from the tragedy in Connecticut last Friday that claimed the lives of 20 children and six educators.
"So we are asking California administrators and principals to just carefully review their plans again and look at the best practices we can share," Torlakson told KCRA 3.
That message was reinforced at schools across California, including O.W. Erlewine in Sacramento, where the state flag was flying at half-staff.
