The truth simply isn’t important… As Malloy’s budget chief concedes emergency deficit reduction plan is “likely”


According to today’s CTMirror article, written by Keith M. Phaneuf and Jacqueline Rabe Thomas. “One day after Gov. Dannel P. Malloy called it ‘premature’ to talk about state budget deficits, his budget chief told reporters that state finances were far enough in the red to “likely” trigger a mandatory deficit-reduction plan.”
No Governor Malloy and OPM Secretary Barnes – it isn’t’ likely- it is your legal obligation.
The law, whether Governor Malloy understands it or not, is to take action if the state budget deficit reaches at least 1 percent of the budget – and that point has been reached.
