One of the more interesting lines spoken at last night’s meeting of Bridgeport’s illegal Board of Education was a comment made by Paul Vallas who said;
“I was invited here by Stefan Pryor to take on this job. And let me just dispel a rumor. Stefan Pryor volunteered in Haiti, okay? Somebody said that he got a contract from me. I didn’t know I was in a position in Haiti to give anybody contracts… “
First off, Mr. Vallas, that “somebody” would be me.
Second, considering you’ve run for governor and I’ve had the opportunity to manage three gubernatorial campaigns, we both know that the single most important element in a press operation is to ensure rumors are responded to and eliminated.
As you may know, I wrote to Commissioner Pryor’s press secretary to ask him about the discrepancy in some press coverage about the work that you and Mr. Pryor did in Haiti.
