December 9 Is a National Day of Action. Are You Coming?

December 9th National Day of Action
to Reclaim the Promise of Public Education
Our Schools, Our Solutions
Day of ActionIn October, over 500 parents, students, teachers and community members came together in Los Angeles and committed to working together to build a national community-labor movement for educational justice.
That commitment will become public in just a few short weeks. On December 9, educators, parents and students in cities and towns across the country will mobilize in public action as part of the National Day of Action to Reclaim the Promise of Public Education: Our Schools, Our Solutions.
During this Day of Action we will be saying YES to The Principles That Unite Us, and NO to the corporate agenda for our schools, YES to great neighborhood public schools for all students, and NO to privatization, school closings, and over-testing of students.
You can view a list of planned events here. If you are organizing an event but don't see it listed, please send information to edjusticedayofaction@gmail.com. It will be very helpful for us to know about all local activities ahead of time so that we can help promote your hard work!
Here are some materials to assist your planning for the National Day of Action: feel free to use this flyer (pictured above); and a shortbackgrounder on the event so that you can see what your counterparts in other cities are planning. And don't forget this up-to-date list of endorsers of the Principles That Unite Us.
We'll see you on December 9!
