    Here is the official response from Cobb to the blog I posted earlier on a parent's analysis of class size disparities.
     From Jay Dillon, director of communications for the Cobb County School District:
    Parent John  Morris should be commended for taking the time to analyze classroom sizes to the extent that he has, and for wanting to help our schools. His report has added to the class-size conversations our district has been having for several years now as budgets have been cut severely and our teaching staff has been reduced by more than 1,300.
    Class sizes are sure to be a major topic again when the Board of Education begins discussions about next year's budget deficit, expected to be nearly $80 million.
    Class sizes have grown in recent years as the district has repeatedly sought waivers from the state Department of Education to go above state maximums. Many public school systems across our state have sought similar waivers. While Mr. Morris' report shows a percentage of class time spent at or above the former state maximum class sizes, he does not provide a percentage of
