EDUCATING OUR YOUNG TEACHERS ABOUT SAFETY | Teachers Fight Back

EDUCATING OUR YOUNG TEACHERS ABOUT SAFETY | Teachers Fight Back:

EDUCATING OUR YOUNG TEACHERS ABOUT SAFETY

Why aren’t safety issues being addressed ?  Why are principals and mentoring teachers failing to make young teachers aware of the dangers involved in teaching ?  What about our teacher unions ?  Aren’t they offering safety workshops ? Isn’t that part of a union’s job, to look after the welfare of their members ?
These safety rules for teachers must be taught over and over again:
NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE ALONE WITH A STUDENT.  NEVER KEEP JUST ONE STUDENT AFTER CLASS OR AFTER SCHOOL. NEVER.
NEVER MEET WITH A STUDENT OUTSIDE OF A SCHOOL SETTING.
NEVER TOUCH A STUDENT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM.
NEVER E.MAIL, TEXT, TWEET OR FACEBOOK WITH ANY STUDENT UNLESS THE SCHOOL REQUIRES YOU TO POST HOMEWORK OR SOME OTHER OFFICIAL SCHOOL BUSINESS.
NEVER TALK TO A STUDENT ABOUT PERSONAL INFORMATION, YOURS OR THEIRS. DIRECT STUDENT PERSONAL PROBLEMS TO THE COUNSELOR.
NEVER GIVE COMPLIMENTS TO A STUDENT THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE CONSTRUED AS ANYTHING BUT OF AN
